About me
The reach of digital media has become immensely powerful. It has impacted elections – Donald Trump (51 million twitter followers) and Cambridge Analytica (87 million Facebook users’ data compromised). And it has created some of the most valuable companies in the world – Google ($750B and counting), and Facebook ($480B).
But, it also encourages a world of click-fostering provocations. The easy spread of information breeds tribalism and is a factor in the wave of nationalism we see both in the developing and developed world. There is little space for rational, fact-based discourse. This is an attempt at my little haven for that.
The topics covered in this blogsite are a very short list of those that I am passionate about. Some are from my professional life, and the others are of personal interest. Maybe gun control will be a near-term addition.
Finally, a caveat. These opinions are mine and mine alone. I speak for no one else, except possibly for my daughter. And, she’s 10 and just does not know better.
